[DELORIS VAN CARTIER] (Female Identifying, 25-39, Black, E3-F#5) Larger-than-life powerhouse singer-comedienne; Black, liberal, and unconventional.

[MOTHER SUPERIOR] (Female Identifying, 40-60, Black, D3-E5) Authoritarian head of convent. Stiff and protective of her sisters and her traditions.

[SISTER MARY ROBERT] (Female Identifying, 20-25, Any Ethnicity, preferably BIPOC; F#3-A5) Postulant raised in the convent, shy and soft-spoken.

[SISTER MARY PATRICK] (Female Identifying, 25-45, Any Ethnicity, preferably European descent; G3-E6) Enthusiastic and easily excitable actor-singer. Character soprano.

[SISTER MARY LAZARUS] (Female Identifying, 30-50, Any Ethnicity, F3-B4) Choir head, deadpan and unwelcoming, strong dance background preferred (will likely double as Homeless / Fantasy Dancer). (F3-B4)

[SISTER MARY MARTIN-OF-TOURS] (Female Identifying, 30-50, Any Ethnicity, Ab3-F5) Singer-comedienne, clearly in her own world with moments of surprising clarity. Strong dance background preferred (will likely double as Tina / Hooker / Homeless / Fantasy Dancer).

[SISTER MARY THERESA] (Female Identifying, 55-75, Ab3-F5) Eldest and feeble nun, strong dance background preferred (will likely also double as Michelle / Hooker / Patron / Fantasy Dance).

[MONSIGNOR O’HARA] (Male Identifying, 50-70, Any Ethnicity, E3-G4) Gentle head of convent; bumbling elder who is open to change.

[CURTIS] (Male Identifying, 35-50, Any Ethnicity, A2-Ab4) Controlling gangster boyfriend of Deloris. Menacingly deadpan.

[LT. EDDIE SOUTHER] (Male Identifying, 30-40, Any Ethnicity, Ab2-B4) Nervous yet earnest desk chief at a Philadelphia police station. Understatedly attractive, yearns to be noticed by Deloris.

[TJ] (Preferably Trans or non-Binary, 20-40, Any Ethnicity, Db3-Eb5) Singer-comedian sidekick in a perpetual state of ignorant bliss.

[JOEY] (Male Identifying, 20-40, Any Ethnicity, Bb2-Eb5) Superior singer with an extensive vocal range, a self-professed ladies’ man (or so he thinks).

[PABLO] (Male Identifying or Non-Binary, 20-40, Any Ethnicity, C4-F5) High tenor, the comedic sidekick; imagines himself the stereotypical Latin lover but is far from it (may not necessarily identify as LatinX).

[EARNIE] (Male Identifying or Non-Binary, 20-45, Any Ethnicity, C3-Bb4) Versatile. Dancer. Multiple roles (Undercover Informant / Homeless / Cab Driver / Drag Queen / Gay Boy / Alter Boy / Newscaster).

[CHORUS MALE] (Male Identifying or Non-Binary, 20-45, Any Ethnicity, C3-G4) Versatile. Dancer. Multiple roles (Bartender / Cop / Pool Player-Patron / Homeless / Gay Boy / Alter Boy / Newscaster.
