BREAKDOWN

CURTIS
A beautiful man in his mid to late 40s. Curtis has been wrongfully incarcerated for more than half his life. He is clear about his situation but refuses to become what it dictates he should. His demeanor is small, interior. His body is trapped but his mind is limitless, which allows him to physically transform and transport himself into our lives in whatever ways his circumstance dictates he needs. He is the last person you’d expect to find in prison.

GEO
A sheltered 23 year old seeking his truth. A lovable spirit, he is emergence personified. This is his coming of age story, from naive boy to well lived man. Sexually ambiguous yet potent in his desirability, Geo lives his life to please two women. On a quest to learn more about his family so he can find himself, he unearths a past no one saw coming. Our actor is sweet emergence personified.
MADELAINE – (MAD uh lynn)
A woman equivocating. Early 40s. That may be her only truth. She is Geo’s Mama and guards his heart as fiercely as she guards her own. Preoccupied with survival and preservation of certain appearances. Hilariously whoever she needs to be in any moment. Early trauma robbed her of most worldly pursuits. She is the quintessential life unlived and has passed that legacy on to her son. She does not wear her trauma, but instead guises it under rules and behaviors and social structures that keep her trapped. Our actor is a warm, nurturing nuisance...until she isn't.

BILL
A smooth talking private investigator in his late 30s to 50s. On a quest but lost track of “for what”. His tactics have grown unconventional and even inappropriate at times. He is all about the win. He does remember there’s a trophy waiting and plans to get it by any means necessary. If he wore a tie, it would never be on straight. Our actor is charming AF with a healthy dash of questionably creepy.

CONSTANCE
A fiercely independent 25 year old. She’s had to fend for herself and has done a darn good job of it. Geo’s friend, and as her name suggests, she is ride or die. She is a young girl trapped in the guise of a truly grown woman. Her own trauma has her looking for love in all the wrong places. She has a not so quiet strength and a wry sense of humor. Our actor has a great sense of (or lack of) timing.

BEVERLY
A childless woman in her mid 50s to 60. Stanley’s wife, she has a penchant for parenting, whether you ask for it or not. Her sixth sense is both gift and curse, depending who’s on the receiving end. Also, she's just nosey so if she can't sense, she asks. She is no nonsense, but kind and dedicated to those she loves. Clear and exacting in her desires and intentions. Our actor has an unassuming quality that gets ya when you're not careful.

STANLEY
A quiet spirit of about 70. Curtis's father and Beverly’s husband. For the past couple of decades his existence has been in relationship to somebody else. Everybody else. His acceptance of what is, ishis strength, not a weakness. He is the steady in the storm, but when he loses his anchor, the tides turn. He is in questionable health. Our actor is extremely warm with a gravitas he must wield on occasion. He would be everyone’s favorite grandpa. The “I got your nose” type.
