SYNOPSIS: Two Thai-American brothers launch a ghost-hunting business in order to capitalize on the nationwide increase in sightings of “Asian-looking ghosts.” When the siblings investigate the home of an African-American couple who were displaced by Hurricane Katrina and who are antagonized by one very terrifying spirit, everyone’s notions of reality, fantasy and sanity clash against the shocking truth.

Synopsis: Set in the little village of Anatevka, the story centers on Tevye, a poor milkman, and his five daughters. With the help of a colorful and tight-knit Jewish community, Tevye tries to protect his daughters and instill them with traditional values in the face of changing social mores and the growing anti-Semitism of Czarist Russia.

:

TEVYE - The likable, hard-working, pious dairyman who always tries to see the positive side of life. He is a proud patriarch and father of five daughters, closely raised according to the old scriptures. Age: 45-60. Vocal part: Bass-Baritone.

GOLDE - Tevye’s strong-willed wife who wishes for her daughters to have good husbands and live easier than she and Tevye. Age: 40-50. Vocal part: Mezzo-Soprano.

TZEITEL - Tevye’s eldest daughter, who is madly in love with Motel. She is loyal to her family but typically challenges the town’s traditions. Age: 18-25. Vocal part: Mezzo-Soprano.

HODEL - Tevye’s second eldest daughter, who becomes involved with Perchik. Age: 18-23. Vocal part: Mezzo-Soprano.

CHAVA - Tevye’s middle daughter who loves to read. Falls in love with a Russian soldier. Age: 15-20. Vocal part: Mezzo-Soprano.

LAZAR WOLF - The feisty, brawny butcher and the town’s wealthiest citizen who wishes to marry Tzeitel. Age: 40- 50. Vocal part: Baritone

YENTE - The meddling matchmaker. She is a widow and village busybody who knows all of the town gossip. Age: 50-60. Vocal part: Alto.

FYEDKA - A strong, young Russian soldier who sees past his military obligations and falls in love with Chava. He challenges Tevye’s imposed silence. Age: 20-25

CONSTABLE - Russian military official stationed near Anatevka who knows the villagers well, however he has superficial relationships with the villagers. Age: 35-45.

AVRAM - Runs the local bookshop and keeps the town advised of all the news in the area. Age: 40-60. Vocal part: Baritone

GRANDMA TZEITEL - Golde’s deceased grandmother, who endorses the marriage between Tzeitel and Motel. Age: 60- 75. Vocal part: Mezzo-Soprano.

Synopsis: The play is set in 1934, when the clever and combustible Lucille Wiley, Manager of the Cleveland Grand Opera Company, is ready to welcome world-class soprano Elena Firenzi for her one-night-only starring role in Carmen. Alas, Elena arrives late, her impassioned husband Pasquale has a fit of jealousy, and it remains to be seen whether Mrs. Wiley’s mousy but determined assistant Jo can save the day. Based on Ludwig’s Tony Award-winning Lend Me A Tenor, the roles are reversed, and the ladies take the lead in this madcap screwball comedy.

SYNOPSIS: During a 6-day workshop we will continue to develop this musical. This workshop will not have a public performance. It’s 1968 in a small rural town in South Carolina where the Joint, an old, run-down juke joint, sits at the heart of a changing neighborhood, serving as both a hard-drinking sensual dive and prayer-filled sacred sanctuary. The Joint is the story of three generations of women striving to live their dreams at great costs.
