BREAKDOWN
DATES:

JOHN PARIS (M/50’s) Lawyer. Head of the firm. An American but internationally renowned super-lawyer. Intense, ferocious, driven, charismatic, and one of the toughest, most successful trial lawyers in the United States. A lone wolf, until now. More than a little intimidating.
KAREN LUKOFF (F/30’s) Assistant DA. Star of the local DA’s office, hired away by John Paris two weeks after he hired his nephew. Laser smart, tough, and
coincidentally, stunning. Can be underestimated (but only once) by the unwary opponent, who might mistake her for the knockout receptionist or pretty young legal secretary.

DAN BURKS (M/mid 30’s) Lawyer. John Paris’s nephew. The first trial associate Paris has ever hired, though Dan has been doing only corporate law in his brief career and has no experience as a trial lawyer. Smart but green, and seriously in over his head.

CATHRYN ADLER: (F/ around 30) Assistant District Attorney. Now has the job Karen made famous. Attractive, crisp, professional, seasoned in the crash fashion of all young ADA’s, from having been in a courtroom a lot. Knows her way around, and out to make her mark.

BARBARA COOLEY: (F/40’s – 60’s) Court Reporter. Sees a lot of trials, as a silent but insightful observer. A mythical 90% plus track record of calling verdicts. A kind, quiet soul but fully aware and possessing of a certain incisive wisdom.
