SEEKING

Equity Dancers for the ensemble. See breakdown for featured parts.

PREPARATION

Please come ready to dance in dance attire with dance sneakers and character shoes. Please also prepare 16 to 32 bars of a song from the show or in the style of the show in case asked to sing. Bring sheet music, in the correct key, as an accompanist will be provided. Please bring a picture and resume, stapled together.

FEATURED ENSEMBLE/ WAILIN’ JOE/BEALE STREET (Male, 20-40) Wailin’ Joe sings "Scratch My Itch" and is featured in both Act One and Act Two; must also dance very well; vocal range: excellent tenor voice, Eb3-Gb5. The character is African American.
FEATURED ENSEMBLE/MR.COLLINS/GORDON - (Male, 40-60) to play Mr. Collins, a department store owner, and Gordon Grant, a record company executive, and perform in the ensemble; dance ability a plus. Vocal range: baritenor. The character is Caucasian.
FEATURED ENSEMBLE/BEALE STREET SINGER: (Female, 20-30) must be a good dancer; vocal range: excellent high belt voice. The character is: African American
ENSEMBLE MAIN STREET SINGER/DANCERS MALE (Male, 20-30) four excellent dancers with great pop/rock/crooner voices; comic ability and tumbling a plus; vocal range: tenor and baritenor. These characters are Caucasian.
ENSEMBLE MAIN STREET SINGER/DANCERS FEMALE (Female, 18-30) to play teenagers-30 for different roles; excellent dancers, great singers, "Double Dutch" experience a plus; vocal range: pop/rock/R&B; belters. These characters are Caucasian.
ENSEMBLE BEALE STREET SINGER/DANCERS MALE (Male, 18-30) to play teenagers; excellent dancers with great R&B/rock voices; comic abilities, partnering, and tumbling a plus; vocal range: baritenors/tenors B2-B4. These characters are African American.
ENSEMBLE BEALE STREET SINGER/DANCERS FEMALE (Male, 18-30) to play teenagers; excellent dancers, great soulful R&B/rock voices, athletic and fierce, comic ability and partnering a plus, "Double Dutch" experience a plus; vocal range: altos/sopranos A3-A5. These characters are African American.
