BREAKDOWN

In reference to the character descriptions below—most characters we encounter currently are on the binary and are written with he/him or she/her pronouns and you will see that in the following descriptions. But how ever limiting the descriptions are, our casting seeks to be as inclusive as possible and we invite gender non-conforming, genderqueer, transgender and non-binary actors to submit for the roles they most identify with. We will also list race/ethnicity when specific to the character but are otherwise seeking all races and ethnicities. Let us know if you have any questions, concerns, or if there are any accommodations we can provide (Language developed by Kevin Kantor and Emily Tarquin from the Actors Theatre of Louisville).

Synopsis: A young Israeli woman on holiday with her grandmother in the United States is confronted by an unexpected turn of events. Now, she finds herself stranded in a motel room on Christmas Eve with an oddball delivery man. Is their meeting an accident, or is it destiny generations in the making? Hilarious and tragic circumstances culminate in a heartfelt romantic comedy about what you can find when you feel lost.

Seeking:

Ayelet - (pronounced “ay-EL-et”) Female. 30’s. Israeli. Lovely, but has lost her smile. Wounded by a break-up last year, but not quick to cry. Practical. Focused. Searching for more from life but afraid to admit it.

Terrence - Male. 30’s. American. Virginia accent. Works as a delivery guy for DHX. Kind of a screw-up, but well-meaning. Not an idiot, just not worldly. A solid good guy. Funny without meaning to be.

Josh - Male. 30’s. American. Has an innate charming-shy-funny way about him. Tends to talk quickly, words tumbling out when he’s nervous. Used to be an English Lit teacher at Virginia Tech but quit after his wife died. Though wounded by his loss, he doesn’t like to dwell on the emotion and never becomes overly weepy when talking about her.

Edna - Female. Mid-to-Late 70’s. Israeli. Ayelet’s grandmother. Loves life. Loves to smile. A ball of vitality, vigor, and energy.

Requirement for proof of vaccination/negative test:

Everyone entering the audition venue (i.e., venue employees, Equity members, non-members, casting personnel, creatives, producers, musicians, COVID Safety Managers, etc.) will be required to undergo a symptom check and provide one of the following prior to entry into the venue:

If the risk level for FORT WORTH is trending upwards and may rise to High (Red) we will contact members with appointments at least 24 hours before the first audition appointment time to let them know there is a chance that the auditions may need to be postponed or cancelled. All members with appointments will be notified if the auditions must be postponed or cancelled.

We encourage members to prepare for their audition at home, to the extent that they can (e.g., get dressed, hair/make-up, etc.) to avoid crowding in bathrooms and dressing rooms. Additional information required in notice:
