GREAT BARRINGTON PUBLIC THEATER 2021 SEASON - EQUITY VIDEO SUBMISSIONS

SPT $404 weekly minimum (SPT 4 - pending approval)

SEEKING
Equity principal actors to perform in Dad by Mark St. Germain and/or The Christopher Boy's Communion by David Mamet.

GBPT encourages all actors to submit for consideration. Actors living within a 50-mile radius of Great Barrington, MA particularly encouraged to submit.

INSTRUCTIONS
Please record two monologues, one dramatic and one comedic, and submit the video or a link to the video along with a headshot and your resume to tristan.greatbarringtonpublic@gmail.com (preferred) or via US Mail.

BREAKDOWN

DAD

Dad - Age 83, Mechanical Engineer, WW2 veteran - ornery and often angry old man. Beligerent and opinionated. He does not tolerate anyone who does not agree with him.
Mark - Age 60, writer. Son who has clashed with his father since a young age. Resentful of his brother who has always been Dad's favorite.
Lynn - Age 54, school nurse. Disciplined and pragmatic. She is the one who tries to calm the arguments within the family.
Paul - Age 59, Cadillac mechanic. The favorite son. He can't appreciate Marks feelings of resent.

THE CHRISTOPHER BOY'S COMMUNION

Mrs. Charles - a spiritualist. Age 40 - 60. Mysterious and powerful.
Alan - middle aged, well-to-do businessman. Husband of Joan. He is devastated by what their son has done and supports Joan's efforts to keep their son out of jail.
Burke - middle age, plain clothes police detective. Worn down by his life as a cop. He is shocked by the depravity of the crime committed by Joan and Alan's son.
Hollis - middle age plain-clothes police detective. Worn down by his life as a cop. He is shocked by the depravity of the crime committed by Joan and Alan's son.
Mr. Stone - middle aged attorney. Very expensive and well-respected attorney. Proper and prim.
Joan - this role has been cast - middle age, well-to-do. Wife of Alan. Devout Catholic. Used to getting her way.
Father Paul - a middle-aged Catholic priest.
