Please prepare EITHER 1) a brief classic or modern American monologue that’s no more than 90 seconds; OR 2) a brief musical theatre song no more than 90 seconds; OR 3) a very brief monologue and 16 bars of a song combined total 90 seconds. Please provide your own sheet music. An accompanist will be provided.

ALBERT EINSTEIN: The German-born theoretical physicist who developed the general theory of relativity. He fled Nazi Germany and settled in Princeton NJ where he was offered a position with the Institute of Advanced Study at Princeton University. Age range late 50’s.
MARIAN ANDERSON: One of the most celebrated singers of the 20th century. She performed on concert stages around the World, but suffered discrimination at home in the United States. African American; age range late 40’s. The actress playing this role must be able to sing. Vocal type: contralto.
ABRAHAM FLEXNER: Head of the Institute of Advanced Studies at Princeton University, he recruited EINSTEIN to be a fellow at the Institute. Age range 60’s.
MARY CHURCH TERRELL: African American woman, age 60’s, but with the energy of a 30-year old. A civil rights activist and suffragist who worked tirelessly to put an end to racial prejudice. She helped plan MARIAN ANDERSON historic concert at the Lincoln Memorial in 1939.

DON QUIXOTE (Cervantes): Tall, thin man in his late 40s. He is an actor, playwright and would be knight. He’s a romantic—some say crazy—and has a vision of a far better and nobler world, where knights and chivalry rule the day.
SANCHO (The Manservant): Older than Don Quixote, Sancho is short and squat. He has served Quixote/Cervantes for many years and is devoted to him. Tenor, age range 40-50’s.
CAPTAIN OF THE INQUISITION /JOSE (muleteer): A man of authority. Male, bass- baritone, age range 30-50s.
ALDONZA/DULCINEA: A serving woman and a part-time prostitute at the inn, Aldonza is rough on the exterior, but has a gentle heart. Quixote falls in loves with her and insists her name is DULCINEA. Tough, independent, self-reliant. Female, mezzo-soprano, age range 25-35.
INNKEEPER/GOVERNOR: A large and powerful man, he is kind as the Innkeeper, but as the Governor he’s the leader of the inmate society in the prison. Male, baritone, age range 40s-50s.
DR. CARRASCO/THE DUKE: As the character of the Duke he’s the sidekick to the Governor; however, when he plays Dr. Carrasco, he is Antonia's fiancé. Male, tenor-baritone, age range 30s-50s.
THE PADRE: Male, high baritone, age range 35-45
ANTONIA/FERMINA: Quixote's niece and Dr. Carrasco's fiancée. Female, mezzo soprano, age range 30s-40s.
THE HOUSEKEEPER/MARIA: Female, mezzo soprano, age range 45-60
THE BARBER/ALSELMO (muleteer): Male, tenor/baritone, age range 30-40
PEDRO: The head muleteer, Pedro is a mean and vicious man, leading an attack on Aldonza. Male, tenor/baritone, age range 25-35.
JUAN: A muleteer. Male, tenor/baritone, age range 20-30.
PACO: A muleteer. Male, tenor/baritone, age range 20-40.
TENORIO: A muleteer. Male, tenor, age range 30s-50s.
