BREAKDOWN
Synopsis:
A moving tale of redemption, Dublin Carol tells the story of John Plunkett who, on a bleak Christmas Eve, finds himself plagued by the unshakeable ghost of his past. John had made many reckless decisions throughout his life, most of them fueled by alcohol. When he was at his lowest ebb, he received help from a man named Noel who offered him a job as an undertaker and a place to stay. He showed him kindness and respect when most had given up on him. On this Christmas Eve, John returns from a funeral with his young helper Mark and as we learn of his journey through his shattered life, we discover that he is not alone in crisis. Mark is in a romantic relationship where he feels trapped and lost in how to proceed. Shortly after John is visited by his estranged daughter Mary who he hasn’t seen in a decade. She has news for him and along with it, perhaps the opportunity to make amends for past sins.
