Seeking
Equity actors (5 male, 3 female) for DREAM A LITTLE DREAM.

Preparation
Prepare a short musical selection of a classic number from the Mamas and Papas, or something else from that style and generation of folk rock. Piano accompanist provided.

Breakdown

Denny: Male, 20s-30s. Handsome Nova Scotian singer with an off-kilter sense of humor and the spirit of an Irish rogue. A great tenor vocalist.

Cass: Female, 20s-30s. The ultimate hippie earth mother. A big woman with a big voice. Intelligent, bombastic, funny, insecure and lovesick.

John: Male, 20s-30s. Tall, hyper-intelligent songwriter and group leader. Funny, pompous, cerebral. A born salesman.

Must play 12-string guitar.

Michelle: Female, 20s-30s. The ultimate California girl. John’s wife. A sexy blonde gamine. Highly romantic but tough when she needs to be. Insecure as a singer.

Zal Yanovsky: Male, 20s-30s. Iconoclastic musician and eccentric comic. Very Jewish. Hair long before hair was long. Mel Brooks meets Lenny Bruce.

Must play electric lead guitar. Plays with the band when not in a scene. Doubles various other characters.

Scott McKenzie: Male, 20s-30s. Handsome lead singer with a sweet, but despondent nature.

Must play acoustic rhythm guitar. Plays with the band when not in a scene. Doubles various other characters.

Lou Adler: Male, 30s. A brilliant, very hip Jewish record producer. Doubles various other characters.

Jill: Female, 20s. Lou’s girlfriend. A beautiful singer and photographer. Doubles various other characters.
