SEEKING

Milwaukee Repertory Theater seeks actors for the roles of PROFESSOR and BLUE in its 2019/20 production of CHASIN' DEM BLUES: UNTOLD STORY OF PARAMOUNT RECORDS.

BREAKDOWN

BLUE (Male, Black, 35-55) Charismatic MC and lead of the band with music and dance in his blood. He is the bearer of history and speaks with elegance and grace. He is a great storyteller with a soulful and powerful singing voice.
PROFESSOR (Male, White, 25-50) A versatile pianist, vocalist, and actor with a great voice and strong presence. He has command for language and offers context for the story, and he plays a range of roles in order to advance the story. Can play ragtime, blues, boogie-woogie, and jazz. May also be considered to be co-Music Director for the show.
