Breakdown

POPS
50s-60s, African-American. The patriarch of the family. A retired cop and with a lawsuit against the city. Trying to keep whatever is left of his family intact. CAST.

JUNIOR
40s, African-American. Pop’s son and currently dating Lulu. Trying to work his way through life as best as he can. At odds with Pops and is perhaps doing some illegal activity to make a few bucks. Stuck at the moment.

OSWALDO
Late 20s/early 30s, Latino. Junior’s ex-con friend from rehab, crashing at Pop’s apartment. A troubled young man seeking comfort wherever he can find it. Fighting to stay sober. Alienated by his own family.

CHURCH LADY
30s-40s, Latina. Originally from Brazil, a novitiate for the convent. Is holding dark secrets that suggest a complicated history. Trying to do the right thing, whatever that means to her.

LIEUTENANT CARO
40s-50s, Italian. Has quickly climbed the ladder within the NYPD and is a future Deputy Commissioner. Engaged to Detective O’Conner. Trying to help Pops resolve a long fight with the department.

DETECTIVE O'CONNER
30s-40s, white. Pop’s former partner in the NYPD. Loves him dearly and wants the best for him. Caught between her ambitious fiancé and her mentor/father.

20s-30s, Latina. Also staying at Pop’s. Dating Junior and trying to find a way to make herself necessary in their lives. Huge heart, yet not the sharpest tool in the shed. CAST
