Please prepare a short contemporary monologue and/or a contemporary Broadway/Pop song appropriate for GODSPELL or THEY’RE PLAYING OUR SONG. Total audition time not to exceed 2 minutes. Bring picture and resume.

FITZPATRICK MAINSTAGE
LETTERS TO THE PRESIDENT: AN AMERICAN MUSICAL EVENT
Conceived by Michael Bello and Jessica Kahkoska. Director: Michael Bello. Musical Director: Patrick Sulken.
First rehearsal: June 1st

SEEKING: MAN 1: early 30s to 40s, African-American, contemporary bari-tenor. Leading man type with a warm singing voice and powerful speaking voice. Charismatic and able to play an array of roles including Jackie Robinson, a coal miner, and Abraham Lincoln. Must be able to rap.
WOMAN 1: early 30s and above, contemporary mix with legit soprano. Grounded and striking with a beautiful singing voice and powerful speaking voice. Full of warmth and gravitas to play an array of roles including Annie Oakley, Queen Elizabeth II and Ronald Reagan. Dialects a plus.
WOMAN 2: mid-20s to early 30s, person of color, high mix/belt. Ingénue with a clear, powerful singing voice and strong speaking voice. Youthful spirit with intelligence and wit to play an array of roles including a midwestern teen, WWII widow, and Amelia Earhart.
WOMAN 3: any age, African-American, warm contemporary belt. Strong character actress with clear sense of storytelling and comedic timing to play a variety of roles. Warm and powerful singing voice with resonant speaking voice. Rap experience a plus.

SEEKING: All actors must have excellent, fluid British accents.
Helen - A young woman, late 20s-early 30s. She is the play’s narrator, practical, not as youthfully attractive as her younger sister. But she is full of life and casts a loving eye over her family and their situation.
George: 50s-60s. The father of the family. A cynical communist who plays the piano and sings his way through tragedy. He has a comic edge and a political fanaticism that distinguishes him from his compulsively religious wife.
Eric: 20s, a romantic young British soldier in love with Joyce. Awkward and naive, he turns out to be a loyal suitor despite his many character flaws.
Norman: 20s, a young British soldier in love with Helen who, despite his devotion to her, turns out to be already married and leaves her heartbroken. He seems everything Eric is not, but the play’s main reversal is the two soldier’s true characters are revealed.
Andie: 70s. Mam’s father. An old anarchist.
Joyce - Younger sister of Helen. Cast.
Mam - The compulsively religious matriarch of the family. Cast.
