Production Description/Synopsis:
And Baby Makes Seven follows the story of Anna and Ruth, a lesbian couple, who enlist their gay friend Peter to help them create a family. But are any of them ready for parenthood? Tensions rise as the three adults prepare for the imminent arrival of their baby—and matters are made all the more challenging by the persistence of the three imaginary children who already live with them. The lines between fantasy and reality, child and adult, love and madness crisscross through this hysterically funny and deeply touching play about what it means to be a family.

Peter:
Male/age 38-45/all ethnicities. Buttoned-up man with boyish qualities, somewhat uptight but likable, carries a fear of becoming a bad father like his father was, very smart, loves his women friends. Comfortable with language, witty banter, and physical comedy.

Ruth/Henri/Orphan [CAST]:
Female/age 38-45/all ethnicities. Eccentric artistic woman with keen sense of humor, partner to Anna, plays two imaginary children (one an 8-year old French boy and the other a 7-year old orphaned wolf boy with a stutter) and can flip in between all personas with hilarity and ease, a driving energy, protective, a feminist. Comfortable with language, witty banter, and physical comedy.
Anna/Cecil [CAST]:
Female/age 37-42/all ethnicities. Very pregnant woman, partner to Ruth, level-headed peace-maker, intelligent with humor bubbling just below the surface, plays an imaginary child (a 9-year old boy finishing his Ph.D.) and flips between herself
