Breakdown
About the play: Two arms negotiators stroll in the woods above Geneva, Switzerland, in the late summer, away from the glare of the negotiating table. They are a Soviet diplomat, Andrey Botvinnik (50’s – could be male or female) and John Honeyman (40s), an American negotiator. The play was nominated for the 1988 Tony Award, and was a finalist for the 1987 Pulitzer Prize for Drama.
SEEKING:
Andrey Botvinnik – Male OR Female, Caucasian, 50’s, a career Soviet Diplomat. Extrovert, great sense of humor, cynical, manipulative, super-bright, articulate, warm and friendly. Should have a slight Russian accent.
John Honeyman – Male, all ethnicities, 40’s, an American negotiator. Charismatic, highly intelligent, intensely serious (sometimes too much so), idealistic, determined to get an agreement.
