Equity actors for various roles. This production replaces BABEL in the 2019-20 season.

PREPARATION

Please prepare a 2 minute monologue (or two contrasting 1 minute monologues). Bring picture and resume.

All rehearsals and performances for A TWIST OF WATER will be held in the Mill Hill Playhouse in Trenton, NJ.

Dates:
Rehearsals run from April 7th - 29th (30 hrs/week)
Preview performances on April 30th & May 1st
Opening night is May 2nd
(The first week’s performance schedule is Thurs, Fri. & Sat. at 7:30pm and Sun @ 3pm. Following week’s schedules are Fri. & Sat. at 7:30pm and Sat. & Sun. at 3pm.)
Closing is May 17th

BREAKDOWN

A TWIST OF WATER: Noah, a widowed history teacher, struggles to find hope in the wake of his husband’s death. When their adopted daughter Jira decides that she wants to seek out her birth mother, Noah and Jira are forced to reexamine both their own identities and their relationship to each other. Set against the backdrop of Chicago, this poignant play explores the definition of family and the love we find when we allow ourselves to heal.

NOAH – 39, white, a teacher
JIRA – 17, black, his daughter
TIA – 33, black, JIRA's birth mother
LIAM – 26, a teacher, any race or ethnicity*
