Naveen Gavaskar- Male, 31, second-generation Indian-American or South Asian. Smart, sharp, traditional, gay, must know/learn how to speak Hindi convincingly.

Keshav Kurundkar- Male. Early 30s, Caucasian American. An utterly charming cross-cultural nomad, gay, must know/learn how to speak Hindi convincingly.

Megha Gavaskar- Female, 50s, Indian American or South Asian, Naveen's mother. Sweet, loving, pragmatic. Must know/learn how to speak Hindi convincingly and speak English with a slight Hindi accent.

Archit Gavaskar- Male. Late 50s, Indian American or South Asian. Naveen's father. Wry, solid, decent. An excellent cook. Must know/learn how to speak Hindi convincingly and speak Enlish with a slight Hindi accent.

Arundhathi Rao- Female. 33, Indian American or South Asian, Naveen's sister. Stubborn, self-concerned, vulnerable.
