After a successful National Tour last year,A Christmas Story, The Musical!is coming to Broadway this Holiday season.
This classic holiday tale centers on a mischievous, bespectacled boy, Ralphie, who dreams of getting a BB-gun for Christmas. In the weeks before the big holiday, Ralphie, his friends and his family get into all kinds of situations— including run-ins with a bully with “yellow eyes,” a tongue stuck to a flag pole, a bar of soap in the mouth, a garish leg lamp, a major award and a Chinese Christmas dinner. Based on the humorist Jean Shepherd’s novel “In God We Trust, All Others Pay Cash,” this is a tribute to the Original, Traditional, One-Hundred-Percent, Red-Blooded, Two-Fisted, All-American Christmas.

Seeking:

RALPHIE:Principal. 9-12 (to play 9, going on 10) Caucasian. Hisvoicemust be UNCHANGED.Must be 4’ 11” or shorter. Possibly a bit pudgy; a regular kid – cute but not handsome, winsome but not precious. He wouldn’t be lost in a crowd, but he wouldn’t stand out either. Bright, but not precocious; a kid you wouldn’t mind living next door to. Seeking a young kid who is comfortable on stage but real.Must be an excellent singer and able to carry a show.VOICE: Boy’s unchanged voice. High belter, low F# to high D. Must be able to tap. *Please prepare an uptempo Broadway belt song that displays range, personality and strong lyric interpretation.

RANDY: Principal. 8-9. Caucasian. Ralphie’s younger brother. Must be 4’ 10” or shorter. Smaller than Ralphie; the cuter the better. High belter, low F# to high C#. Must be able to tap. *Please prepare an uptempo Broadway belt song that displays range, personality and strong lyric interpretation.

SCUT FARCUS: Principal. 12-14. Must be 5’ or shorter. A meanie – the bully; lean, taller than the other kids; there’s nothing about him you want to like. He’s that kid you always made sure to avoid in school. Gruff character voice. Must be able to tap.

NOTE: The kids carry a HUGE part of a HUGE production. We’re seeking boys and girls with natural star quality for the ensemble.Seeking CHILDREN OF ALL ETHNICITIES. BOYS MUST HAVE UNCHANGED voices. All of these children must be 4’ 11” or shorter.
