Seeking:
Ebenezer Scrooge – Male, aged 40’s – 60’s. Strong character, cantankerous old man with a sarcastic sense of humor (example: Bill Murray in the film Scrooged) Baritone/low Tenor, sings and is a good mover/physical comedy.
Jacob Marley – Male, age late 30’s – 50’s. Strong character, contemporary of Scrooge, has a frightening presence and sense of humor. baritone/low tenor – sings and moves well. Onstage most full show- takes Scrooge on the full journey once he is revealed.
Bob Cratchit – Male, age 30’s – early 40’s, - tenor, sings ballad. Sweet natured, loving father.
Lamplighter/Ghost of Future – Male, age late 20’s to 50’s. Our Narrator through the story (i.e. Burt in Mary Poppins) and doubles as Ghost of Future. Tenor/Baritone, good Singer – some dance. Standard English or Cockney dialect. Genial with the audience and has a scary but humorous presence as Ghost of Future.
Ghost of Christmas Present/Fezziwig/Gentleman #1 – Male, age late 30’s to late 50’s. Commanding presence, boisterous voice. Baritone – Sings and moves well.
Fred (Scrooge’s Nephew)/Ensemble – Male age 20’s - early 30’s. Tenor – strong soloist, strong scene work. Genuine, Friendly, Earnest, celebrates Christmas.
Mrs. Cratchit/Mrs. Fezziwig – Female, late 20’s - 40 – strong scene work. Mother to 4 children. Compassionate.
Fred’s Wife/Laura (Young Scrooge fiance) - Female, 20’s – strong soloist, dancer - moves well for dream sequence.
Ghost of Christmas Past/Martha Cratchit – Female, mid teen’s - early 20's. Strong singer, scene work. Sweet natured ghost to lead Scrooge through past/ loving daughter to Bob Cratchit.
Tiny Tim – male, age 6–10, the Cratchit’s youngest child, sweet little boy on crutch, good scene work.
Adult Ensemble – Men and women, ages 18 – 40’s. London townspeople with lines, customers, partygoers. Strong singers and Movers/some dance.
Youth/Student Ensemble – Boys and girls, ages 8– 17, singers, light choreography for Children’s choir. Cratchit children – Peter, Belinda; Young Scrooge, Scrooge’s sister, Dick Wilkins, and others.
