Breakdown
As part of its ongoing effort to discover and develop culturally and ethnically diverse talent and actors with disabilities, the Disney ABC Television Group's Casting Project will hold auditions for consideration for the annual and 29th ABC Talent Showcase.
Selected participants perform for casting directors, talent agents, managers and other industry professionals who view a series of live, one-act vignettes performed by the actors.
In addition, the selected showcase actors are awarded a one year mentorship with executives from the NY Casting Department. As part of the mentorship, the showcase actors will be offered on-camera workshops specifically for them to further hone their craft and auditioning skills.
Talent will also have access to various ABC and ABC Studios executives.
Former participants include Chadwick Boseman (42), Laz Alonzo (Deception), Jesse Williams (Grey’s Anatomy), Dania Ramirez (Devious Maids), Jorge Garcia (LOST), Carrie Ann Inaba (Dancing with the Stars), Gina Rodriguez (Filly Brown), and Ali Stroker (Glee Project).
ABC's Talent Showcase has established an industry standard in creating opportunities for talent, with participants being given the chance to audition for a variety of ABC (and other networks') pilots and ongoing programming.
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY BEFORE SUBMITTING:
1. DO NOT DOUBLE SUBMIT.
2. NO PHONE CALLS.
3. NO SUBMISSION WILL BE ACCEPTED BEFORE OR AFTER THE SUBMISSION PERIOD.
[TALENT] Participants for the talent showcase must be at least 18 years old. Previous acting experience/training is required of all, but professional representation is not necessary.
ABC will contact selected actors to schedule an audition.
ABC has a long-standing commitment to promoting diversity in the entertainment industry through a variety of projects administered by its Talent Development & Casting departments. The Casting Project offers an excellent opportunity for talent that might otherwise go unnoticed.
