Ebenezer Scrooge returns to the Bonstelle Theatre with his humbug ways from December 1 to December 17. Theatre and Dance at Wayne offers a new family tradition that is fun for everyone with the heartwarming holiday play, Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol".
This adaptation by
John Wolf, Chair of the Maggie Allesee Department of Theatre and Dance, and
Tom Aulino, brings new life to a timeless holiday classic as the miserly Ebenezer Scrooge encounters three ghosts on Christmas Eve who urge him to change his ways before it is too late.
Charles Dickens' beloved tale celebrates the generosity of the human spirt and its ability to change even the hardest of hearts.
John Bergeron, the MFA actor playing Scrooge, admires stories of redemption. He offers his insights, "The challenge to the actor is to find how dark, how miserable you can be, while giving the audience reason to root for you."
The students and professors collaborating on the project have access to the latest innovations in the industry allowing them to create enthralling magical effects. With five projectors and a bank of computers, this production pulls visuals from the past, ingenuity from the present, and works with technology from the future to create spectacular imagery for this holiday production during Theatre and Dance at Wayne's season of live theatre in Midtown.
