Spinning Dot Creates Unity Between U.S. and South Africa Showcasing Youth and Adult Performers in THE KIDS FROM AMANDLA STREET

Spinning Dot Theatre launched in 2014, creates meaningful international theatre for kids and their families. For everyone, really. Through inventive storytelling often with music, movement, shadow puppets, professional actors, and more, we invite our audiences to think about our world.

The Kids From Amandla Street by South African Playwright Lereko Mfono brings to the stage the lively and prejudiced Amandla Street as seen through the eyes of four South African youth. These youth want to change the world, live their fullest lives, and dream of all they can become. This comes in stark reality to the racism, fear, and potential violence that surrounds them and threatens to steal their dreams.

The Kids From Amandla Street will be performed as Spinning Dot Theatre's first ever Unity Play - combining actors from all ages and levels of the Spinning Dot Theatre family along with invited community performers. Our performances will combine post show discussions of the play, and we are thrilled to be inviting the playwright, Lereko Mfono to be an exciting invited guest to share in this work.

The complete performance schedule for The Kids From Amandla Street is as follows.

Thursday, March 8 @ 7:00p.m.

Friday, March 9 @ 6:00p.m.

Saturday, March 10 @ 7:00p.m.
