Meadow Brook Theatre was recently presented a check for $12,000 by The Meadow Brook Theatre Guild. The donation, which was presented to the theatre during the Guild's annual Luncheon on the Aisle fundraiser, will help replace the theatre's sound console.

The gift is a part of an effort to bring current the sound technology at MBT. The update is necessary due to new FCC frequency regulations, which will soon render the current system inoperable. This recent contribution is one of the first to help fund this effort. The Meadow Brook Theatre Guild has committed to future support for the project, and is focused on aiding the theatre in updating the sound technology by 2015.

"We are very lucky have an organization like The Guild working to support Meadow Brook Theatre," said Cheryl Marshall, Managing Director. "With this gift, we will continue to bring Broadway-quality entertainment right here to Rochester."

Since it formed in 1977, The Guild has been the major supporter of Meadow Brook Theatre, giving upwards of $750,000.00 over the past 37 years. "The ladies of the Guild love the Theatre, and it's our mission to support it, " said Suellen Parkes, Guild President. "This is a project that we are happy to help fund, and one that will give the theatre the tools it needs to maintain the high production value the community has come to expect."

The Guild hosts two major fund-raising activities annually: Luncheon on the Aisle in the spring, and Spotlights Fine Art & Gift Market in the fall. Both events will help make the theatre's new sound system possible.

Meadow Brook Theatre is located on the campus of Oakland University in Rochester, Mich. For donation information, please call Katy Olsen, Development Director, at 248.370.4991.
