HEAD OVER HEELS Will Have Midwest Premiere at The Ringwald

Fresh from its Broadway run, Head Over Heels-featuring the songs of 80s music icons The Go-Go's-will make its Midwest premiere at The Ringwald. Running from May 10 to June 10, this production will replace Fun Home on The Ringwald's season calendar.

Named one of Entertainment Weekly's Top 10 Stage Picks of 2018, the celebrated Broadway run of Head Over Heels just closed on January 6 and The Ringwald is absolutely thrilled to present this funny and sexy show so hot on the heels of the Broadway production.

Auditions for Head Over Heels will be held at The Ringwald on Sunday, January 27 from 11am to 2:30pm. Actors must prepare 16 bars of one Go-Go's song and a one-minute comedic monologue. Callbacks will be held the following week. Audition signup information can be found at TheRingwald.com.

Head Over Heels is a bold and fierce new musical comedy from the visionaries that rocked Broadway with Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Avenue Q and Spring Awakening. Based on The Arcadia by Sir Philip Sidney, HOH includes the Go-Go's hits "We Got the Beat," "Our Lips Are Sealed," "Vacation," plus Belinda Carlisle's "Heaven is a Place on Earth" and "Mad About You," and many more!

It's a hilarious and sexy celebration of love in all its infinite varieties, told through the story of a royal family that must embark on an extravagant journey to save their beloved kingdom and find love and acceptance. "...a delightful, bubbly, exuberant party!" -New York Magazine

Head Over Heels was conceived by Jeff Whitty and adapted by James Magruder. The Ringwald's production will be directed by Artistic Director Joe Bailey. Cast and crew will be announced at a later date.

The Ringwald opened their doors eleven years ago on May 11, 2007 with Fatal Attraction: A Greek Tragedy. Quickly, The Ringwald became a mainstay of Detroit's theatre community. The Ringwald was named 2009, 2012 and 2013 Best Theatrical Troupe by Real Detroit and Best Place to See Local Theatre in 2010, 2011 and 2012 by the readers of Metro Times.
