Farmers Alley Theatre Announces A YEAR WITH FROG AND TOAD

Farmers Alley Theatre for Young Audiences returns this summer with the charming musical, A YEAR WITH FROG AND TOAD, running July 27th through August 3rd. Based on the beloved series of children's books by Arnold Lobel that has delighted generations of kids, and featuring bright new songs by the Tony Nominated team of Robert & Willie Reale, this hour-long adaptation of the Broadway musical is sure to delight children of all ages, especially those aged 3-to-10.

A YEAR WITH FROG AND TOAD follows the woodland adventures of two amphibious friends, the worrywart Toad (Ryan Singleton) and his best friend, the energetic and perky Frog (Jesús Barajas). Over the course of the year Frog & Toad encounter many different colorful hopping, crawling and flying companions brought to vivid life using puppetry, costumes and props. Living out the four seasons, our two best friends plant gardens, swim, rake leaves, go sledding and learn life lessons along the way. Celebrating and rejoicing in the differences that make us unique and special, A YEAR WITH FROG AND TOAD is perfect for introducing youngsters to live theatre, while keeping adults entertained as well.

Sandra Bremer, our Director of Theatre for Young Audiences will once again helm this adorable production. Sandy is an amazing artist who has great skill in engaging little ones at theatre, as evidence by her prior works at Farmers Alley Theatre including Fancy Nancy: The Musical, Goodnight Moon and last spring's Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse. Hal Hobson-Morse serves as the production's musical director, and Savannah Draper serves as Props/Costume Designer and Stage Manager.

Jesús Barajas and Ryan Singleton star as Frog and Toad, respectively. Jesús was last seen in our mainstage production of Fun Home and has also been seen in our productions of The Producers and The Diary of Anne Frank. Ryan will be making his Farmers Alley debut, but has been seen on the Kalamazoo Civic stage in shows like Godspell, Hands on a Harbody, and Ain't Misbehavin'. WMU musical theatre students Rachel Beck, MerryRose Howley, and Megan Troost portray the rest of Frog & Toad's animal friends.

A YEAR WITH FROG AND TOAD runs from July 27-August 3. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for all kids under 18. Tickets can be purchased by calling our Box Office at (269) 343-2727 or by visiting www.farmersalleytheatre.com.
