Curtains Up On Matrix Summer Camps! Share Your Ideas On Detroit's Future As You Write And Perform Your Own Play This year's Matrix Summer Creativity Camp participants will learn skills related to the theatre and visual arts, as they spend a week exploring their vision for Detroit's future. They will have the opportunity to work with professional teaching artists to create and share original works based on their vision. The cost for the camps is $125 (Use code: 'earlybird' for a $25 discount through May 31st). Financial assistance is available. To register go to www.matrixtheatre.org. For further information, call Colleen Cartwright at 313 967 0999, ext. 3.

Camps are one week in duration and run various dates from June 20 through July 27. Each camp session offers an individual age-specific curriculum for youth between the ages of 8 - 18. All camps are held at Matrix Theatre Company, 2730 Bagley Street, Detroit, Michigan 48216, Monday through Friday from 9 am - 4 pm. Childcare is not available before or after camp hours.

"We are really excited to see what kind of ideas these young people come up with for the future of this great city," shared Director of Education Colleen Cartwright. "We look forward to the performances they will create."

This year, we are once again partnering with Go Comedy! Improv Theatre in Ferndale, Michigan to offer summer improv comps for kids of all ages. Visit our website at www.matrixtheatre.org to learn more.

About Matrix School of Theatre
Matrix Theatre Company's School of Theatre challenges and encourages students to become creators of their own work by writing and performing original works. We believe that everyone has a story to tell and that the best way to learn is by doing. Therefore, the School of Theatre at Matrix has its own season where students perform shows they have, in most cases, authored themselves. These productions range from small showcases at the end of each semester of classes to longer running paying audience productions. For further information or to follow Matrix on Facebook and Twitter, go to matrixtheatre.org.
