CBS Radio Announces Four-Day Detroit BMI Singer Songwriter Series, Oct. 19-22

CBS Radio has announced a four-day Detroit BMI Singer Songwriter Series that will span across several city venues Wednesday, October 19 through Saturday, October 22. The series, sponsored by Olympia Entertainment, Detroit Metro Convention & Visitors Bureau, Detroit Institute of Music Education, HD Radio and BMI, will feature intimate acoustic performances by artists who penned some of music's favorite songs to include Hunter Hayes, LoCash, Brett Young, Uncle Kracker, Jacob Whitesides, Tinashe and more. The festivities will culminate with a main event at the Fox Theatre on Saturday, October 22, paying tribute to Motown's first artist to record a hit for the record company and storied songwriter, Barrett Strong.

Tickets for the Fox Theatre show ($35 and $50) go on sale Saturday, September 24 at 10 a.m. at OlympiaEntertainment.com, The Fox Theatre and Joe Louis Arena Box Offices, Hockeytown Authentics in Troy (without service charge), at all Ticketmaster locations and Ticketmaster.com. Admission is free to the public at Hockeytown Cafe and a nominal fee ($5) will be charged day-of-show at Hard Rock Cafe.

Dedicated to music and those who create it, the Detroit BMI Singer Songwriter Series will introduce Motor City's music fans to the faces, voices and stories behind their favorite songs though unique and up-and-close showcases. Legendary songwriters Casey Beathard, Wendell Mobley, Michael Ray, Jerrod Niemann and Joe Nichols will also highlight the series.
