"Abreact Stories", a fundraising event and evening of stories shared by patrons and participant of the The Abreact Theatre from its first 12 years, will take place at St. Cece's, 1426 Bagley Ave. Detroit, MI tonight, February 28th, 2013 from 10 PM to 1:30 AM.

Abreact is in the process of transitioning from the business entity known as The Abreact Performance Space Limited (a for profit company offering free theatre) to The Abreact Theatre Collective Incorporated (a 501©3 non-profit). The latter allowing the company to take advantage of many grants, tax deductible monetary donations, as well as in-kind material donations. By achieving this goal the desired result will help Abreact to stabilize its business operations and continue on for another 12 years to come.

The financial goal is to raise $2,500 so that Abreact may continue to serve the community by delivering theatre excellence and create more unique opportunities for Metro Detroit Thespians. In short, Abreact needs to raise the funds necessary to finalize our legal needs in the pursuit of the non-profit status with the IRS (application fee) and rebuild capital for the upcoming 2013/2014 season.

This annual mid-season fundraising event will feature the theme "Abreact Stories", to be shared by actors, patrons, and all co-conspirators alike. The event will be set in the warm and inviting confines of St. Cece's in Cork Town (a full service bar and restaurant). There Abreact implores all to come and share memories, anecdotes, or just share a special talent that you might have which could win you a prize awarded by a "secret panel of judges".
