A FOX ON THE FAIRWAY Swings Into Meadow Brook Theatre

The uptight members and staff of a private country club have life-and golf-all figured out. But when a friendly wager turns cutthroat, and sides are switched, it's time to roll up their sleeves and come out swinging.

A throwback to the great English farces of the 1930s and 40s, A Fox On the Fairway has everything: Mistaken identities, slamming doors, romantic shenanigans...and golf!

A Fox On the Fairway by Ken Ludwig, running January 9 through February 3, 2019, at Meadow Brook Theatre on the campus of Oakland University in Rochester, is sponsored in part by Oakland University Golf and Learning Center.

"We've done a couple of different shows by Ken Ludwig through the years," says Travis Walter. "Many subscribers will remember Lend Me a Tenor and, more recently, Baskerville. His plays are always a great story with a lot of great laughs."

The cast includes some of Meadow Brook audiences' favorite funny people. Lucas Wells is Justin Hicks. Phil Powers and Wayne David Parker are Dickie Bell and Henry Bingham respectively. Cheryl Turski plays Pamela Peabody, Stephanie Nichols is Muriel Bingham, and Olivia Ursu is Louise Heinbedder.

"This will be a great way to lighten up the winter blues," continues Walter. "Whether you love or hate golf, we've teed up a hilarious show just for our audiences."

A Fox On the Fairway is directed by Travis W. Walter. Terry W. Carpenter is the stage manager with scenic design by Brian Kessler, costume design by Leslie Littell, lighting design by Reid G. Johnson and sound design by Mike Duncan.

Tickets range from $30 to $45 and are available by calling the Meadow Brook Theatre box office at 248-377-3300 or going online at www.ticketmaster.com. Student discounts are available at the box office. Groups of eight or more should call 248-370-3316 for group pricing.

In addition to Oakland University Golf and Learning Center, A Fox On the Fairway is made possible through the generous support of The Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs, The National Endowment for the Arts, The Kresge Foundation, The Fred A. and Barbara M. Erb Family Foundation, The Shubert Foundation, and the Meadow Brook Theatre Guild.
