Samuel French Announces Schools to Be Awarded with Royalty-Free CHICAGO: HIGH SCHOOL EDITION

Samuel French, Inc. announces the winners of The Chicago High School Edition Razzle Dazzle Competition, a national competition for teens that celebrates the meaningful impact that the performing arts have on their growth and development. Submissions were received from over 27 states across the country representing theatre programs in both urban and rural settings.

Inspired by a celebratory Broadway performance of Chicago that honored John Kander's 90th birthday, Samuel French is awarding 10 schools or youth organizations in the United States with a royalty-free three-performance license to produce Chicago: High School Edition. This includes all rehearsal materials as well as rehearsal and performance backing tracks from Right On Cue Services. The entries were adjudicated by representatives from Samuel French, Right On Cue Services, iTheatrics and the Educational Theatre Association. The winners represent eight Title I schools from nine states:

  • Cohoes High School, Cohoes, NY
  • Keene High School, Keene NH
  • Liberty High School, Brentwood, CA
  • Miamisburg High School Miamisburg, OH
  • Performing Arts Center for Clayton County Public Schools, Jonesboro, GA

  • Sussex Academy, Georgetown, DE
  • TimberGriffen Theater Company, Arvada, CO
  • Van Meter High School, Van Meter, IA
