Patience Worth in Broadway PATIENCE WORTH
Barnett Theatre
5/19-5/20/2017
Fragmented identity. Sublimated love affairs. A nagging desire for fame. And the limits of what can (or should) be believed. In this new play from Jennifer Schlueter and the for/word company, a turn of the century St. Louis housewife finds her voice through an Ouija board. But: should she listen? Inspired by and built from archival material that resides in the Missouri History Museum, Patience Worth is a multimedia performance event, created in collaboration with animator and motion capture expert Vita Berezina-Blackburn from the Advanced Center for Computing Arts and Design (ACCAD) and features the groundbreaking use of Unity software by John Luna.

industrial Valley: The Devil's Milk, Part 3 in Broadway INDUSTRIAL VALLEY: THE DEVIL'S MILK, PART 3
New World Performance Laboratory
5/11-5/21/2017
Industrial Valley is an ensemble-devised theatre performance based on one-time Beacon Journal reporter Ruth McKenney’s acclaimed 1939 account of class and industrial conflict in Akron, Ohio. NWPL, under the direction of co-artistic director and University of Akron theatre professor James Slowiak, brings to life Depression-era Akron and the labor movement. Malcolm Cowley called McKenney’s historical novel “the best American example of devilsmilk_0605lowproletarian literature.” Industrial Valley: The Devil’s Milk, Part 3 is a stunning example of NWPL’s 25 year working process resulting in a dynamic theatre performance with music, songs, dances, and stories from Akron’s rubber workers. The NWPL ensemble consists of co-artistic director Jairo Cuesta and long-time company members and Akron residents Debora Totti, Justin Hale, and Chris Buck, with new members Rosilyn Jentner, Robert Keith, and Kyra Kelley. The performers are supported by resident costume designer Inda Blatch-Geib, resident set designer/technical director Kirsten Williams, resident lighting designer Chris Hariasz, and media designer/videographer David Cranston. Tickets are $15 general and $10 for students. Seating is limited. For tickets call 330-867-3299 or online. Each performance will be followed by an audience engagement session.

Incorruptible in Broadway INCORRUPTIBLE
Clague Playhouse
5/12-6/4/2017
Clague Playhouse goes hilariously back to the Dark Ages with INCORRUPTIBLE Clague Playhouse presents its 5th and final production of the 89th season, INCORRUPTIBLE by Michael Hollinger. Running May 12 through June 4, 2017, INCORRUPTIBLE is a dark comedy about the dark ages that’ll have audiences asking for mercy while rolling in the aisles with laughter. The Cast Directed by Tyson Douglas Rand, this cheeky farce taking place in a 1250 A.D. French monastery features the talents of Tim Walsh as Brother Martin, Marthan Brown as Peasant Woman, Charles (Chuck) Cover as Olf, Richie Lynch as Father Charles, Dan Sekanic as Brother Felix, Jeff Bartholomew as Jack, Emmy Cohen as Marie, and Meg Parish as Mother Agatha. The Story The Brothers of Saint Foy is a dwindling order. They work hard to care for their parish village but the relics (bones) of their patron saint have not worked a miracle in thirteen years. Their only income is from a “Pay to Pray” policy and no one in their village can afford to pay the penny! When the convent in a neighboring town claims to have acquired the relics of “The Real St. Foy” the pilgrims flock to pray for miracles and the battle begins! Toss in a one eyed Jester/con man, his seductive dancer “wife” and the promise of a visit from the Pope and… – Well, all SOMETHING breaks loose! This is a dark comedy that playfully examines how, both then and now, we often feel compelled to do the wrong thing for all the right reasons – and our only saving grace is… Grace itself. A farcical & physical romp. Show Dates INCORRUPTIBLE will run May 12 through June 4, 2017 on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 8 P.M. and Sundays at 2 P.M. Show Tickets How much to “Pay to Pray” with the monks of INCORRUPTIBLE? Show tickets will be $16 for adults, $15 for seniors (60+), and $10 for students (any age with a valid ID). Individual tickets are now on sale and can be purchased by visiting or calling the box office at 440-331-0403 Wednesday through Saturday from 1–6 P.M. Tickets are also available to the general public 24/7 online through the web site (www.clagueplayhouse.org) or our Facebook page. We have mercy on Students!!! Limited FREE Thursday Student Tickets (high school and college) are also available by calling the box office at 440-331-0403 from 1-5 P.M. on Wednesday, the day before your chosen Thursday performance, to reserve a seat. Student ID should be shown at time of ticket pickup. No online reservations can be taken for free Thursday Student Tickets, and these seats are subject to availability.

MASSACRE (Sing to Your Children) by Jose Rivera in Broadway MASSACRE (SING TO YOUR CHILDREN) BY JOSE RIVERA
Convergence-continuum
5/19-6/10/2017
After enduring six years of psychological and physical terror, seven citizens of a small New Hampshire town stage a revolt and murder the man who has destroyed them--or do they? Magic realism and pulpy horror-movie conventions collide when the seven friends conspire to brutally rid their small town of its viciously oppressive mayor. Massacre is a powerful depiction of the use of violence as a response to living under a repressive plutocratic regime, and of our own role in perpetuating the tyranny.
