Summer Camp Counselors - Elmwood Day Camp

Elmwood Day Camp is seeking Group Counselors for the summer of 2019 to join our camp family. The camp staff at Elmwood is a team of college students, graduate students, and teachers who are each dedicated to working with kids ages 3 – 11. Each staff member is committed to helping each child discover, celebrate, and be who he or she is supposed to be.

 

Responsibilities with campers include but are not limited to:

-       Supervising a group of 12-14 campers

-       Ensuring camper safety and well-being

-       Communicating with co-counselors and Division Head

-       Being part of the camp community

 

The Group Counselor position is a full-time commitment of 8 weeks – Monday through Friday from 8:20 – 4:10, plus 2-3 days of mandatory staff orientation.

 

The right candidate is:

-       College Student or Graduate Student

-       Previous experience working with Children

 

Elmwood is a children’s day camp located in Westchester, NY, in a beautiful wooded residential section of White Plains. As a part of the Elmwood team, staff members are sure to enjoy the challenges, triumphs, responsibilities, rewards and fun that make up each day. We believe that in the process of making Elmwood “a great place to be me” for each camper, our staff members find that they too are in “a great place to be me”. We have a high energy and friendly staff. We offer optional staff rec events in the evenings to allow staff to get to know each other after the camp day.

 

Camp Dates: June 27 – August 22 (closed Thursday July 4 and Friday July 5)

Transportation is available from NYC.
