Properties Master - Asolo Repertory Theatre

Asolo Repertory Theatre in Sarasota, FL (LORT B Mainstage; LORT D Second Stage) is seeking a self-motivated and experienced Props Master. Asolo Rep, Florida’s premier theatre, produces eight shows a year including two musicals and four operating in rotating rep.



Responsibilities of the Props Master include working directly with the Senior Props Master to construct, pull, modify, and purchase all necessary props for the season and doing so while respecting a budget. Position will require working long hours during the tech process maintaining a good sense of humor and a healthy relation with the director and set designer.



Applicants should have 2 years relevant professional experience with properties, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Applicants should have knowledge of Photoshop and be fluent in Microsoft OS. Knowledge of CAD or VectorWorks a plus. A strong knowledge of upholstery work, drapery and sewing skills are a must.



Basics skills should include knowledge of carpentry, painting, casting and molding, floral arrangements, weapons maintenance and some special effects. Applicants should be fluent in period and style. Ability to lift 50 pounds and a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is also required.
