Production Staff - Muhlenberg Summer Music Theatre

LISTING INFORMATION

Muhlenberg Summer Music Theatre, an Equity LOA theatre, is seeking the following positions for the 2019 season. The application deadline for best consideration is March 8, 2019. Applications may continue to be accepted until all positions are filled.



CARPENTERS

Experience required in standard scenic construction techniques, ability to lift 50 lbs and working knowledge of shop equipment and tools. Must be comfortable working on ladders and at heights, and have ability to read and interpret scaled construction drawings. Should be highly motivated, have a positive attitude, and work well as part of a team. Season includes two mainstages and a show for young audiences. SCENIC ARTISTS

Experience required in standard scenic paint techniques, color mixing, and the ability to lift 50 lbs. Must be comfortable working on ladders and at heights. Drop layout/painting, and foam carving experience a plus. Should be highly motivated, have a positive attitude, and work well as part of a team. ELECTRICIANS

Electrician candidates must possess demonstrated experience in standard execution of stage lighting, including reading and interpreting lighting plots, hanging, cabling, patching, focusing, and maintenance of equipment. Inventory is a mix of conventional fixtures, LED fixtures, and moving lights. Applicant must be able to work at heights in excess of 40 feet, lift 50 lbs, and have a working knowledge of counterweight rigging systems. Electricians run crew duties are to operate/program light board (ETC Ion) during rehearsals and performances, operation of follow spot during rehearsals and performances and assist with shop carpentry as needed. Experience with DMX, moving lights, and LED tape prefered but not required. Season includes two mainstages and a show for young audiences. AUDIO ENGINEER

Seeking an audio engineer to operate and maintain audio elements of our two main stage shows this summer season. Qualified applicants should have experience with wireless microphones and live sound reinforcement in the musical theatre genre. This is a "hands on" position and the engineer will serve as board op for all technical rehearsals and performances for productions as well as load in and strike of all related equipment. The theatre is equipped with 32 channel digital mixing console and pre-installed house sound system. Experience with Q-Lab, Yamaha DL-9 digital console, and Shure wireless microphones preferable. Position will work closely with the sound designer. Position may also assist in other technical productions areas as needed. Contract dates are May 20 to Aug. 2. Dormitory housing is provided. CUTTER/DRAPER

Seeking an experienced Cutter/Draper for the 2019 summer season. Season includes two mainstages and a show for young audiences. The Cutter/Draper will work closer with the resident draper to divide the responsibilities for patterning the two musicals. Should be highly motivated, have a positive attitude, and work well as part of a team. Technician dates run from May 20 to July 12. Competitive salary and dormitory housing provided. CRAFT ARTISAN/STITCHER

This is a wonderful opportunity for candidates possessing excellent costume construction, alteration, and craft knowledge. The position of Craft Artisan/Stitcher would be expected to work on both costume and craft items. Technician dates run from May 20 to July 12. Experience with millinery preferred. Should be highly motivated, have a positive attitude, and work well as part of a team. Competitive salary and dormitory housing provided. STITCHER

The position of Stitcher will work closely with other members of the shop to complete builds and alterations on the season's costumes. Season includes two mainstages, and a show for young audiences. This is a wonderful opportunity for candidates possessing excellent costume construction, alteration, and previous theatrical costume experiences. Should be highly motivated, have a positive attitude, and work well as part of a team. Technician dates run from May 20 to July 12. Competitive salary and housing provided. WARDROBE/COSTUME INTERNS

Wardrobe/Costume Interns will run wardrobe for the two musicals and in addition will have some sewing responsibilities in the shop. Season includes two mainstages and a show for young audiences. This is a wonderful opportunity for candidates with costume production and wardrobe experience. Should be highly motivated, have a positive attitude, and work well as part of a team. WARDROBE SUPERVISOR

The wardrobe supervisor would be responsible for supervising two wardrobe interns and ensuring that the prep and organization for the seasons run is complete. Season includes two mainstages and a show for young audiences. This is a wonderful opportunity for candidates possessing wardrobe experience who are interested in stepping into a leadership role.
