Signature Theatre, one of New York’s leading off-Broadway theatres, is accepting applications for

2019 WINTER/SPRING INTERNS

The deadline for submitting applications is 6:00 p.m., Friday, October 26, 2018.

Founded in 1991, Signature Theatre celebrates playwrights and gives them an artistic home, producing six to eight productions annually. In 2005 Signature began its groundbreaking Signature Ticket Initiative, providing affordable tickets to all of its productions. In 2012, Signature opened the Pershing Square Signature Center, the Frank Gehry-designed 75,000 square foot Center featuring three theatres, two rehearsal studios, a central, public lobby with a café and bookstore, as well as administrative offices. In 2014, Signature became the first New York City theatre to receive the Regional Theatre Tony Award.

While at Signature, interns are offered the opportunity to learn alongside professional artists and managers, at the forefront of New York City not-for-profit theatre. Through our comprehensive program, undergraduates, early-career professionals, and graduate students, acquire hands-on experience in theatre administration and production. In addition, our program features a seminar series, mentorship opportunities, and the chance to explore each and every department at Signature.



As a Signature intern you will be invited to participate in department meetings, all-staff meetings, and special events, including but not limited to First Rehearsals, Invited Dress Rehearsals, Opening and Closing Nights, Signature Alumni Nights, and Staff and Artist Talkbacks.

• At Least One Letter of Recommendation

• A Non-Creative Writing Sample (required for Artistic and Literary Internships, only)

• An Example of Previous Editing/Film Work (required for Digital Media Internships, only)
