Director of Education - Syracuse Stage

Syracuse Stage, the LORT theatre in residence at Syracuse University, seeks a Director of Education to begin July 1. The director of education is a senior management position and reports to the artistic director. The ideal candidate will have experience creating and leading an outward facing, broad-based education program that includes touring programs, a summer intensive, a mainstage student matinee series, and classes for residents of all ages and backgrounds. Along with the associate director of education, the director of education will represent Syracuse Stage in various community settings. The new director of education will have the opportunity to build on existing success and craft new initiatives and activities for the community. Teaching experience, strong written and verbal communication skills, and a bachelor’s degree are required. Directing in a nonprofit theatre, or in an educational setting, is a plus.
