About Ballet Hispnico Ballet Hispnico, the premier Latino dance organization in the United States, has been inspiring young artists and enriching our cultural landscape for nearly 50 years. We bring communities together to celebrate and explore Latino cultures through dance, reaching audiences around the world with transformational performances by our professional Company, encouraging students through exceptional training at our School of Dance located on Manhattan's Upper West Side, and engaging diverse communities of all ages with educational residencies and performances. Founded by National Medal of Arts recipient Tina Ramirez, Ballet Hispnico has been led since 2009 by Artistic Director & CEO Eduardo Vilaro, who has infused the organization?s legacy with a bold and eclectic brand of contemporary dance that reflects America?s changing cultural landscape. Position SummaryBallet Hispnico seeks a Development Assistant who will advance the mission of the organization by providing excellent and energetic fundraising support. The Assistant reports to the Chief Development Officer and is co-supervised by the Associate Directors of Philanthropic Engagement and Institutional Relations. As we approach our 50th anniversary in 2020, the Development Assistant will play a key role in Ballet Hispnico?s ambitious goal to undertake a major campaign to support the expansion of our nationwide education programs, cultural community engagement events, and performances throughout the world. The Development Assistant is a key member of the External Affairs team and works closely with staff across the organization to fulfill our goals of increasing annual contributed income and meeting the ambitious goals of a five-year 50th-anniversary campaign.Primary Responsibilities? Support the implementation of all fundraising campaigns and events? Coordinate fundraising mailings? Collaborate with School of Dance team members to oversee major scholarship program? Assist with preparation of grant proposals and reports ? Conduct preliminary research on prospective corporate, foundation, and individual donors? Provide accurate and timely processing of gifts and acknowledgment letters ? Ensure accuracy of contact information, processing all updates in Salesforce CRM ? Enter all activity engagements (attendance at events, etc.) in Salesforce CRM? Contribute to posting on social media channels? Submit development invoices to Finance Office and reconcile expense budgets monthly? Assist the Chief Development Officer as neededGeneral? Able to work evening and weekends when needed? Perform other duties as requiredQualifications? Bachelor?s degree? Minimum of two years of work or internship experience, preferably in a nonprofit organization ? Commitment to excellence and high standards? Passion, enthusiasm, focus, creativity, and a positive outlook? Excellent written and oral communication skills ? Strong organization, problem-solving, and analytical skills? Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm? Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees? Proficiency at Microsoft Office Excel, Word, and Outlook required. ? Familiarity with Salesforce CRM and Predictive a plus. ? Spanish language skills a plus.Compensation and Application ProcedureThis is a full-time position for immediate hire.
