BALLET TO BROADWAY AND BEYOND Singing & Acting Workshop for Dancers Aug. 26 & 27 - Mastering the Musical

Coming from a world where you’re seen and not heard, auditioning for musical theatre can be a daunting experience for dancers. BALLET TO BROADWAY AND BEYOND is an intensive 2-day workshop designed to empower dancers to not only face but overcome their fear of singing and acting. In a safe and supportive environment, you’ll explore various tools to help you audition as confidently as you dance.



Classes include acting, singing, improvisation and audition techniques as well as a Question and Answer session. “Finding Your Voice-- Singing Techniques for Dancers” and “You Want Me to Say Lines?—The Art of the Cold Reading” are just two of the many topics you’ll explore.

ANN ARVIA has taught voice privately for 20 years & given Master Classes at universities across the United States. As an actress, she has appeared on Broadway in Mary Poppins, Beauty and the Beast and Les Miserables as well as such regional theaters as Arena Stage, Goodspeed Opera House and the Walnut Street Theatre.



LINDA BROVSKY has directed over 75 musicals and operas for companies ranging from the Court Theatre to the Canadian Opera Company. Originally trained as a dancer, she has taught acting workshops for numerous universities and conservatories including Carnegie Mellon University, Manhattan School of Music, Temple University and IVAI-Tel Aviv.
