Listing Information: The Public Theater seeks an Assistant Lighting Supervisor who will be one of three assistants responsible for working on assigned shows.
Responsibilities: • Coordinate with lighting designers to hang, focus and troubleshoot lighting plots • Act as Production Electrician for assigned shows • Supervise crews to hang and focus lighting equipment • Promote safe workmanship and working conditions • Help to recruit and train freelance labor • Obtain quotes for equipment and order equipment • Maintain and inventory equipment • Perform other duties as assigned and/or as deemed appropriate
Requirements: • 3-5 years of lighting experience • Proficiency in Word, Excel, Lightwright, and Vectorworks • Understanding of basic programming of a variety of lighting consoles, focusing on ETC Desks • Knowledge of basic theater rigging and lighting equipment • Supervisory skills, attention to detail, ability to operate well under pressure in a hectic, fast-paced environment and a sense of humor
