The U.S. Army Field Band announces the following vacancy:
MOTION GRAPHICS DESIGNER

THE UNITED STATES ARMY FIELD BAND is the Department of the Army’s premier touring musical representative. It has appeared in all fifty states and in more than thirty countries on four continents. The Field Band’s four performing components, the Concert Band, Soldiers’ Chorus, Jazz Ambassadors, and Six-String Soldiers, each travel more than 100 days annually. Its newest team, the Army Rappers, adds a popular and powerful genre to the organization’s mission of connecting Americans with their Army. Army Field Band events include formal public concerts, school assemblies, educational outreach programs, festivals, and radio and television appearances.
ELIGIBILITY ►
4-year enlistment in the U.S. Army required to accept position
U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (green card holder)
Civilian applicants must be 17-34 years of age or up to 40 with a waiver
Military applicants must be eligible for PCS
SALARY ►
$70,000 – $75,000 annually (Army rank of Staff Sergeant)
BENEFITS ►
30 days paid leave annually
Full medical and dental care, plus full medical care for immediate family members
Permanent assignment at Fort Meade, Maryland
Money for additional degrees or other education
Eligibility for Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program
JOB DESCRIPTION ►
Experienced and imaginative Video Editor and Motion Graphics Designer with a strong foundation in visual design and the video post-production process; Tour up to 100 days per year in the U.S. and abroad; Other duties as required in service to the organization.
QUALIFICATIONS ►
Bachelor's Degree in Visual Communication, Broadcasting, Graphic Design, Interactive Design, or a related field preferred
3-5 years of motion graphic design experience related to broadcast, advertising, or social media
Proven experience in motion design, animation, 3D animation and video post-production across multiple verticals/industries and brands
Able to ideate and execute custom graphics that transmit ideas across multiple platforms/channels, effectively connecting with varying audiences
Knowledge of video codecs, delivery platforms, and ability to meet quality control requirements for final deliverables (color correction, audio mixing)
Deep understanding of design principles including composition, visual hierarchy, color, and typography
Detail oriented with high quality/accuracy and proofreading skills
Proficiency with Adobe After Effects, Adobe Premiere and Adobe Photoshop
Ability to travel up to 100 days annually and have no limitations on travel outside of the United States
Sound judgment, initiative, and the ability to work without supervision
Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Ability to meet Army height/weight standards and maintain a generally fit appearance

Motion graphic design portfolio. Please indicate your role on pieces selected.
Short films/stand-alone videos you have shot, produced, and/or edited. Please indicate your role and video reach.
Links to any social media pages or campaigns you currently manage or have managed in the past. Please indicate how much of the content you produced.
Links to videos of live shows that include any Digital Signage or IMAG content you have produced.

Select applicants will be invited to Fort Meade, MD, for an in-person interview and audition following screening of reels/portfolios. Military personnel must be eligible for a PCS, submit an Intent to Release memorandum from the unit Commander, and submit a Soldier Record Brief (SRB) or equivalent.
