The Kammerchor Stuttgart is one of the best ensembles of its kind ever. In the forty years of its existence, under the leadership of Frieder Bernius, the chamber choir has been wildly acclaimed by the public and media. The Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung reported that "the ensemble is composed of the most perfect voice, it possesses the outstanding lyrical, purity of intonation and plasticity on recitation, which is hardly to be surpassed” and the TIMES recently wrote "No superlative is wasted to boast this choir."
The choir has been invited to all the major European festivals such as Salzburg, Barcelona, ??Madrid, Brussels, Flanders, Ghent, Perugia, Cagliari, Linz, Innsbruck, Budapest, Merano, Vezelay and Vienna. In Germany, the choir has performed at festivals and in concert halls in Berlin, Dresden, Göttingen, Halle, Schwetzingen, Ludwigsburg, Leipzig, Kassel, Munich, Nuremberg, Witten and the Rheingau Music Festival.
The choir's repertoire ranges from the 17th up to 21st Century. Except for the middle ages and Renaissance music, they almost sing everything. The flexibility of the choir is not only in the music style but also in the music type. Kammerchor Stuttgart can sing opera, oratorio and a cappella.
Around 90 LPs and CDs are published by EMI, Sony and Carus, of which 40 have received international recording prizes (including Edison, gramophone's Choice, Classical Internet Award and the German Music Critics Award). Since 1968 the establishment of Kammerchor Stuttgart, the choir was invited to tour around the world every year including Israel, North America, Asia and other countries.
