Award Winning Vocalist Presents Tribute to Rosemary Clooney

Tickets are now available for Ellen Winters' original show "The Girl Singer: A Tribute To Rosemary Clooney." This encore performance will hit the stage on August 17 at 8pm at Davenport’s Piano Bar and Cabaret.  The show chronicles the music and turbulent life of America’s Favorite Girl Singer from her debut in the 1940’s with the Tony Pastor Band to her fantastic radio career with Bing Crosby and her eventual Hollywood hits in movies like “White Christmas” and “Red Garters.” 

Award-winning vocalist, and Milwaukee native, Ellen Winters is a regular on the Chicago Cabaret scene.  Featured performances at Davenport’s, Rhapsody Theater, Victory Gardens and The Jazz Showcase are just a part of Ellen’s local highlights.  She also teaches Vocal Jazz and Vocal Instruction classes at Columbia College Chicago since 2007.  Ellen has been a featured performer at the Dakota Bar and Grill in Minneapolis and Danny’s Skylight Cabaret, Rose’s Turn and The Bitter End in New York City.  Ellen also teaches private voice at Hartland Music in Milwaukee, tours regularly and is a clinician all over the country.  The Chicago Tribune has heralded her vocals as having “bell like clarity.”

Join Ellen, her amazing trio (Sam Steffke, Hal Miller and Dave Ruetz) and one surprise “sister” in this encore performances.  Also joining Ellen will be Don Lobacz (Four Guyz In Dinner Jackets).  Don's years of performing musical theater and music of the 50's/60's and today have made him one of the most versatile singers around.   Ellen is thrilled and honored to have Don as a part of this production.
