An original new work by Evan Hill, The Binding is a philosophical and poetic play based on the Testament of Abraham, a second century Jewish legend descended from apocalyptic and mystical traditions. But the Abraham of The Binding is not the holy man known to Jewish, Muslim and Christian traditions. Hill's Abraham has been stripped of his relationship to the divine as he faces his final days, taking audiences on a journey to explore the meaning of death in a culture without traditional mythology and religion.
