Mezzosoprano Stephanie Scarcella, originally from Casper, is ecstatic to return to her home town and be on the roster for ARTCORE once again. The 2013 season was filled with music and many exciting opportunities for Stephanie. In March she sang the role of Sister Helen Prejean with Boston Opera Collaborative in the New England premiere of Jake Heggie’s opera Dead Man Walking. Her concert season included alto solos in Michael Haydn’s Requiem, and Carissimi’s Jepthe, and a recital of operatic duets. In August, Stephanie added another new operatic role to her repertoire, the title role in La Cenerentola (Cinderella) by Rossini again produced by Boston Opera Collaborative.
Ms. Scarcella has also appeared in the concert setting as a soloist in Vivaldi’s Gloria, Handel’s Messiah, Haydn’s Great Organ Mass, Bach’s St. John Passion, and SaintSaens Christmas Oratorio.
