Children's Story Hour to Feature COYOTE STEALS FIRE: A SHOSHONE TALE at Fort Caspar Museum

Join us for Fort Caspar Museum's monthly Fremont Story Hour on Saturday, December 9th from 3:00 to 4:00 pm. First we will read a children's book aloud, then participants may make an art project inspired by the story.

This month's book is "Coyote Steals Fire: A Shoshone Tale" by The Northwestern Band of the Shoshone Nation. "Coyote was tired of being cold," begins this traditional tale about the arrival of fire in the northern Wasatch region of the Rocky Mountains.

After hearing the story, participants may make a paper "Fire Safety" Christmas tree. This tree is a fun way to remind families how to keep their homes safe from fires, including those caused by Christmas trees.

This program begins at 3:00 pm; no reservations are required and all supplies will be provided. The workshop is open to all ages and is free with Museum admission. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Fort Caspar Museum's hours in December are Tuesdays through Saturdays 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, and admission prices are $1.50 for adults; $1 for youth (ages 13-18 years); and free for children (12 years and younger) and for Museum members.
