Fort Caspar Museum and its support group, the Fort Caspar Museum Association, in conjunction with the 11th Ohio Volunteer Cavalry Re-enacting Group, invite you to enjoy a favorite local tradition this summer with "Caspar Collins Day at the Fort." Join us on Saturday, July 21st from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm as we commemorate Casper's namesake. All are welcome to this FREE event.

We will have new activities for people to enjoy this year as well as some favorite traditions. Interact with 19th-century characters including cavalry and infantry soldiers, pioneers, and mountain men. There will be flint-knapping and tomahawk-throwing demonstrations, an Old West gambler, and a shootout with the Cowboy Action Shooters. Ride a real Texas Longhorn, pull a Mormon Handcart, and much more. Try toys and games popular 150 years ago, and stroll through our vendor mart and purchase a variety of items for sale or grab a bite to eat at one of the food trucks.

There will be two lectures in the Museum by historian Marla Matkin: one on Libby Custer planned for 11:00 am and another scheduled for 3:00 pm on the role of women at 19th-century Frontier Army posts. Between lectures, Ms. Matkin will interact with visitors on the fort grounds dressed in historically accurate 19th-century women's attire.

If you are a vendor and would like to set up at our vendor mart, please get an application online at our website http://www.fortcasparwyoming.com or call the Museum 307-235-8462. Fort Caspar Museum is located at 4001 Fort Caspar Road in Casper.
