On Monday, May 21, Birdland was once again proud to host Justin "Squigs" Robertson as special guest artist-in-residence at Jim Caruso's Cast Party.

Whether celebrating opening nights online or reflecting showbiz luminaries on the Lights of Broadway Show Cards, Justin "Squigs" Robertson is happy and grateful to be a part of the Broadway community, carrying on traditions exemplified by the late, great Al Hirschfeld. For this one evening, Squigs sat in at Cast Party and casually drew the cavalcade of talent on the Birdland stage. He gifted the performers with the artwork for a donation of their choosing. All proceeds went to Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, which helps men, women and children across the country and across the street receive lifesaving medications, health care, nutritious meals, counseling and emergency financial assistance.

For the past sixteen years, Jim Caruso's Cast Party has been the place for Broadway, jazz and cabaret performers (and the folks who love them) to sing, celebrate and rub elbows. The open mic/variety show extravaganza takes place every Monday night at Birdland, located at 315 West 44 Street, in the heart of Manhattan's Theater District.
