VIDEO: CBS's Les Moonves Confirms James Corden is 'One of the People We're Talking To' for LATE LATE SHOW

CBS exec Les Moonves was stopped by TMZ last night and was asked about yesterday's report that Tony Award winner James Corden will be taking over hosting duties for Craig Ferguson on the network's LATE LATE SHOW. "We're not sure.," replied a the CBS head honcho. "He's one of the people we're talking to."

Asked why the network continues to look to non-Americans to fill their 12:30 pm time slot, Moonves offered, "Ya gotta get the best that's out there!"

Yesterday, The Wrap is reported that Corden, who won a Tony Award for his performance in Broadway's 'One Man, Two Guvnors,' will take over hosting duties for CBS's Craig Ferguson on THE LATE LATE SHOW. A rep for the actor would not respond to a request for comment and CBS would not confirm the report.

The actor will soon be seen in Disney's highly anticipated big screen adaptation of 'Into the Woods' as 'The Baker', and recently starred opposite Keira Knightley in 'Begin Again.'

Ferguson, who has served as host of the Late Late Show since 2005, announced this spring that he would soon be exiting the show. He did not reveal an exact date of departure and joked of his future plans, "I'll do something else .. Probably, I'm thinking, carpentry."
