Bruce Springsteen has penned a new song for the new veteran film THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE. The song, titled "Freedom Cadence," plays over the closing credits of the movie. The film follows soldiers struggling with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder after the Iraq War. It stars Miles Teller, Amy Schumer, Haley Bennett, Beulah Koale and Scott Haze. Check out a first listen below!

According to backstreets.com, the film's producer Jon Kilik is friends with Springsteen and asked him to write the song, based on a real life soldier's marching cadence called "Freedom." Director Jason Hall explained how the song came to be. Schumann and Kilik are even featured on the song in the background. Springsteen, in addition to singing, plays the harmonium and the banjo on the track.

The soundtrack for THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE will be released on November 3rd by Sony Masterworks. However, "Freedom Cadence" is not listed as being on the album.

Springsteen is currently starring in Springsteen on Broadway at the Walter Kerr Theater, where he performs to an intimate crowd and reads excerpts from his book Born to Run. The show will play 5 times a week through February 3, 2018.
