Manhattan Concert Productions has just announced Tyne Daly as Emma Goldman, Norm Lewis as Coalhouse Walker Jr., and Lea Salonga as Mother to appear in the upcoming concert performance of RAGTIME for one night only in New York's acclaimed Avery Fisher Hall, Lincoln Center on Monday, February 18, 2013.

Manhattan Concert Productions presents RAGTIME as part of their inaugural Broadway Series in 2013. The RAGTIME chorus will feature over one hundred singers from around the country as well as a host of professional members from former RAGTIME choruses and the Broadway community. The guest musicians will spend five days in New York rehearsing and working side-by-side with the professional principal cast, as part of Manhattan Concert Productions' continued work bringing professionals and students together. This performance marks the 15th anniversary of the original Broadway production of RAGTIME.

This concert performance of RAGTIME will feature Stafford Arima as stage director, David Loud as music supervisor, with Sheilah Walker conducting. This concert also features the New York City Chamber Orchestra. Further cast announcements to follow.

Tony and Emmy Award winner Tyne Daly is an American stage and screen actress, widely known for her work as Detective Mary Beth Lacey in the television series Cagney & Lacey and as Maxine Gray in the television series Judging Amy.

In 1990, she took wowed Broadway audiences in the musical Gypsy: A Musical Fable, for which she took home the Tony for Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a Musical. She was most recently seen in the Broadway revival of Terrance McNally's Master Class as Maria Callas.

Versatile leading man Norm Lewis has lent his powerful baritone to leading roles as varied as Javert in Les Miserables (on Broadway and in London) and Billy Flynn in Chicago. In 2007, he originated the role of King Triton in the Broadway production of The Little Mermaid.

He recently finished portraying the title hero opposite Audra McDonald in a reimagined Porgy and Bess, which brought him nominations for both the Tony and Drama Desk Awards and was has been featured on the ABC hit TV show, Scandal.

Lea Salonga is a Filipina singer and actress well known for originating the lead role of Kim in the musical Miss Saigon, for which she won the Olivier, Tony, Drama Desk, Outer Critics and Theatre World awards. She was the first Asian to play the roles of Éponine and Fantine in the musical Les Misérables on Broadway. She also provided the singing voice of two Disney Princesses: Jasmine and Fa Mulan.

Salonga recently starred in The Old Globe production of Allegiance – A New American Musical, at the Old Globe Theatre in San Diego. She is currently headlining a three-week run of God of Carnage at the DBS Arts Centre in Singapore.

RAGTIME is not only a powerful portrait of life in turn-of-the-century America, but a relevant tale for today. Called by Time Magazine "A triumph for the stage," and by the International Herald Tribune "the best musical in twenty years," this acclaimed musical won 1998 Tony Awards for Best Score, Book and Orchestrations, and won both the Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for Best Musical and Best Score.

The Tony-winning score by Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty is just as diverse as the melting pot of America itself. It draws upon many musical styles from the ragtime rhythms of Harlem and Tin Pan Alley to the klezmer of the Lower East Side, from bold brass band marches to delicate waltzes, from up-tempo banjo tunes to period parlor songs and expansive anthems.

Featured are such show stopping songs as "Getting Ready Rag," "Your Daddy's Son," "Wheels of a Dream," "Till We Reach That Day," "Back To Before," and "Make Them Hear You." This thrilling musical is sure to inspire actors and audiences alike!

Lincoln Center in New York City serves three roles: world's leading presenter of superb artistic programming, national leader in arts and education and community relations, and manager of the Lincoln Center campus. In addition, Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts is leading a series of major capital projects, now nearly complete, on behalf of the resident organizations on campus.

Avery Fisher Hall is one of the most acclaimed concert halls in NYC and is part of the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts complex.
